Driving the evolution of digital electronics with today's
most advanced technology

We are working to ensure our ability to supply high-value-added materials in a timely manner. For example, we are increasing our capacity to produce triacetyl-cellulose (TAC) films, which are core components of LCD panels, and we have commenced operations at a new plant that makes glass substrates for hard-disk drives. We hold an overwhelming market leadership position in pickup lenses for optical discs, and we are beginning full-fledged mass production of pickup lenses that are compatible with the Blu-ray Disc (BD) format. We also develop and produce the high-end microcamera units that are used in highly functional mobile telephones—another example of our swift response to market advances.
